Agreement for the implementation of the green transition project signed!

In June 2023, in Warsaw, IEP-NRI signed an agreement for the financing the implementation of the initiative entitled “Green transition in practice: Demonstrating and disseminating the benefits of producing biogas from bio-waste”, submitted within the call for proposals within the framework of the Fund for Bilateral Relations in the field of Green Transition between Poland and Norway. The project is carried out jointly with Vista Analyse from Norway.
The project is aimeds to at accelerateing the implementation of green transition solutions in Poland and Norway by presenting the benefits of using bio-waste for biogas production and demonstrating feasibility on the example of the Municipal Functional Region Tomaszów Mazowiecki-Opoczno by developing a model for use in other regions.
As a result of the project implementation, the following will be created: several a number of publications and materials and a model pre-feasibility study of biogas production. The organization of thematic events and study visits is also planned.
The total funding of EUR 247,021 was provided under the Fund for Bilateral Relations, the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
The agreement on financing the initiative was signed between the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy acting as of the National Focal Point for the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, and the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute.
